14KT White Gold 1.29ct Tanzanite and Diamond Ring A6173. Great Condition! ZE2001BD. One electronically tested 14KT white gold ladies cast tanzanite and diamond ring with a bright polish finish. Condition is new, good workmanship. The featured tanzanite is set within a tiered diamond bezel supported by tapering shoulders, completed by a two and one-half millimeter wide band. Identified with markings of "K14". Containing: One prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 8.00 x 6.05 x 3.40mm, approximate weight of 1.29ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, medium, very slightly grayish, bluish violet color, (GIA bV 5/3), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Graded in the setting. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. Thirty prong set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 1.80 - 1.70 x 1.05mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 30 Stones = 0.68ct. Color grade is an average for the group. Graded in the setting. Clarity VS-1 to SI-1. Color Light Brown. Total Weight of Colored Stones 1.29ct. Total Weight of Diamonds 0.68ct. Total Weight of Ring 4.54gm. AIG Appraised at $4,335.00.
