One electronically tested 14KT white gold ladies cast & assembled tanzanite and diamond necklace. Sixteen inch length chevron style necklace features a pendant consisting of a tanzanite set within cascading diamond ribbons supported by a diamond set fringe transitioning into matching white gold links, terminating in a concealed clasp with safety. Bright polish finish. Identified with markings of "K14". Condition is new, good workmanship. Containing: One prong set rectangular cushion mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 9.95 x 8.05 x 6.10mm, 6% bulge factor, approximate weight of 4.08ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, medium, very slightly grayish, bluish violet color, (GIA bV 5/3), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Graded in the setting. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. One Hundred Forty-Six prong set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 2.70 - 2.10 x 1.44mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 146 Stones = 7.48ct. Graded in the setting. Clarity: SI-1 to I-1. Color: H - J One Hundred Fifty-Eight prong set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 1.30 - 1.10 x 0.72mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 158 Stones = 1.09ct. Graded in the setting. Clarity: SI-1 to I-1. Color: H - J. Total Weight of Colored Stones 4.08ct. Total Weight of Diamonds 8.57ct. Total Weight of Necklace 40.01 grams. AIG Appraised at $41,585.00.
