One electronically tested 14KT white gold ladies cast & assembled blue topaz and diamond necklace with a bright polish finish. Condition is new, good workmanship. Eighteen inch length necklace features a blue topaz and two tiered diamond pendant supported by chevron style diamond ribbon, terminating in a concealed clasp with safety. Identified with markings of "14K". Containing: One prong set rectangular step cut natural blue topaz, measuring 25.00 x 17.50 x 11.82mm, exact weight 47.59ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, dark, moderately strong, very slightly greenish blue color, (GIA vslgB 7/4), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Refractive index testing results of 1.61to 1.62. This is a conclusive result for topaz. Graded loose. A deposit of a thin layer has been applied to the topaz to produce the intense color effect. The process utilizes a very high temperature treatment, diffusion of ions into the topaz, plus in some cases neutron bombardment has been used to create the color center. Diffusion processes causes the added ions to become part of the crystal surface with no distinct boundary. Do not put a gem treated in this manner into an ultrasonic cleaner. Two Hundred Seventy-Six prong set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 2.50 - 1.90 x 1.32mm (depth est.) approximate. Total Weight of 276 Stones = 10.85ct. Graded in the setting. Clarity: SI-1 to I-1. Color: H - J. Total Weight of Colored Stones 47.59ct. Total Weight of Diamonds 10.85ct. Total Weight of Necklace 38.27 grams. AIG Appraised at $36,710.00.
