14KT White Gold 8.35ct Coral and Diamond Ring A6072. Great Condition! SH5041TY. One electronically tested 14KT white gold ladies cast coral and diamond ring with a bright polish finish. Condition is new, good workmanship. The featured coral is set within a diamond bezel supported by a lattice under gallery, completed by a two and one-half millimeter wide band. Identified with markings of "14K". Containing: One prong set oval cabochon cut natural red coral, measuring 14.70 x 10.90 x 6.60mm, approximate weight of 8.35ct., clarity is severely included, medium dark, very slightly brownish, orangy red color, (GIA oR 6/3), cut is good. Transmitting light very diffusely, opaque. Naturally occurring internal & external characteristics are present. Graded in the setting. Red Coral (Corallium Japonicum) is formed undersea by microscopic animals called coral polyps. These tiny, creatures form minute, hard shells. As a colony grows, it takes on complex branching, tree-like forms which allows the maximum number of polyps to be fed by the nutrients in the water. It grows about one quarter inch per year. This color of coral is commonly treated to improve or change the color and stability. Evidence that may confirm this is typically lacking.
