One electronically tested 14KT white gold ladies cast & assembled tanzanite and diamond pendant with chain. The pendant features a tanzanite set within two tiered diamond bezels, completed by a 14KT white gold bail. The pendant is supported by an eighteen inch length 14KT white gold designer style chain, terminating in a lobster claw clasp. Bright polish finish. Identified with markings of "K14". Condition is new, good workmanship. Containing: One prong set triangular modified brilliant cut natural tanzanite, measuring 13.51 x 13.42 x 8.80mm, exact weight 8.83ct., clarity is eye clean, type I, medium dark, moderately strong, violet-blue color, (GIA VB), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Graded loose prior to setting in the GIA Laboratory, Report #2151636325. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. Fifty prong set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 2.30 - 2.10 x 1.32mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 50 Stones = 2.08ct. Graded in the setting. Clarity VS-2 to SI-2. Color G - I .Total Weight of Colored Stones 8.83ct. Total Weight of Diamonds 2.08ct. Total Weight of Pendant with Chain 13.96gm. AIGAppraised at $33,540.00.
