One electronically tested 18KT white gold ladies cast & assembled tanzanite and diamond pendant with chain. Condition is new, good workmanship. The pendant features a tanzanite set within a diamond lattice gallery, completed by a diamond set bail. The pendant is supported by a sixteen inch length 14KT white gold box chain terminating in a spring ring clasp. Bright polish finish. Identified with markings of "K18". Containing: One prong set oval mixed cut natural tanzanite, measuring 8.00 x 6.10 x 3.97mm, 8% bulge factor, approximate weight of 1.43ct, clarity is eye clean, type I, medium, very slightly grayish, violet color, (GIA V 5/3), cut is good. Transmitting light with no distortion, transparent. Graded in the setting. Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone that is only found in the country of Tanzania. Originally discovered in 1967. Tiffany & Company, named the stone Tanzanite. It is found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. Tanzanite occurs in gray, brown, violet, blue, reddish-purple, & green. The gem is interesting because of its exceptional pleochroism. Rotated in different directions a tanzanite will exhibit multiple changes of color. Tanzanite has a low tolerance to ultrasonic cleaning, and should not be cleaned using this method. Ninety-six prong set round brilliant cut diamonds, measuring 1.10 - 1.00 x 0.63mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 96 Stones = 0.50ct. Graded in the setting. Clarity SI-1 to I-1 Color F-H. Two prong set baguette cut (tapered) diamonds, measuring 3.50 x 1.60 x 1.12mm (depth est.) approximate total weight of 2 Stones = 0.12ct. Graded in the setting. Clarity VVS-2 to VS-1. Color F-G. Total Weight of Colored Stones 1.43ct. Total Weight of Diamonds 0.62ct. Total Weight of Pendant With Chain 5.60 grams. AIG Appraised at $6,230.00.
